Training workshop November 2022

University of Hadji Bektash Veli

 

As part of the Erasmus+ project "Integrated Approach to STEM Teacher Training (STEM)" from November 25-27, 2022, in Nevsehir (Turkey), an event called "STEM project training and STEM & Makers Fest" was held at the University of Hadji Bektash Veli /ExpoSTEM & Makers Fest/Expo".

 

On the first day, November 25, experts Outi Maria Haatainen (University of Helsinki, Finland) and Keelin Leahy (University of Limerick, Ireland) conducted a training. The training was attended by 7 master students and 6 teachers of Kazakhstani universities, members of the consortium.

 

Outi Maria Haatainen held a training seminar on the topic "Integrated Project-Based Learning". The following questions were discussed there: Why is learning integrated? What topics are of interest to students? How to support learning as a teacher? Various examples of project-based learning were presented.

 

Keelin Leahy conducted a training on the topic "Heuristics of designing a creative idea." In her speech, she spoke about creative idea generation, cognitive heuristics and heuristic design, tools for designing a creative idea.

 

In the afternoon, master students from Kazakhstan presented their projects. Master's students studying on the educational program "Physics and Computer Science with the basics of STEM learning" of the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University presented 3 projects. There were the following projects have been presented: Nesibeli Zhaksylyk - "Smart-traffic light aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the public environment", Assel Aykozy - "Lamp control with smartphone", Didar Auez - "Practical application of the water hammer phenomenon".

 

Master students of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, have presented 2 projects. The first project "Smart Photobioreactor" was presented by Niyazkhanov Madiyar, the 1st year master student of the educational program "7M01525-STEM Education". Scientific consultants are Professor of the Department of Informatics, Doctor of Pediatric Sciences, Serik Meruert, doctoral student of the Department of Informatics Nurgalieva Symbat.

 

The second project was presented by the master student of the educational program "7M01525-STEM Education" Abdirey Laura. Project theme: "Forest fire fighter robot". Scientific consultants are Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics, PhD, Karelkhan Nursaule, doctoral student of the Department of Informatics Nurgalieva Symbat.

 

Master students studying at the educational program "STEM Education" of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University have presented 2 projects: Agzam Dauletbek - "Smart bin for waste sorting", Amangeldin Adilet - "Parking sensors with ultrasonic sensor and 3D housing for a car".

 

On the second, third days, i.e. On November 26-27, 2022, a festival was held at the University of Nevsehir, Haji Bektash Veli, where participants of the event from Turkey, Ireland, Finland, Kazakhstan, including partner universities L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, M. Auezov South-Kazakhstan University, S.Amanzholova East Kazakhstan University.

 

All participants of the event «STEM project training and STEM & Makers Fest/Expo STEM & Makers Fest/Expo» were awarded certificates.
